Role Overview
As an Account Executive – Multifamily, you will be the face of Matcha to commercial and multifamily property owners across your territory. You are responsible for prospecting, engaging, and closing deals with property owners and managers of all sizes—from independent landlords to large regional portfolios—and driving the deployment of EV charging infrastructure across hundreds of buildings.
This is a high-activity, high-impact field sales role. You will manage a full pipeline from outreach through signed contract, coordinating with internal teams and electrical contractor partners to ensure successful project delivery.
Territory: New England (MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME), New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and select additional markets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Development
Execute Matcha's direct to multifamily sales strategy across named markets and accounts.
Business Development
Use cold prospecting, warm inbound leads, and social or referral based sales and marketing strategies to generate new qualified multifamily leads for our EV charging, building energy monitoring, and battery product lines.
Proposal, Estimate, and Contracts management
Responsible for building proposals, cost estimates, and contracts for propspective clients including through multiple iterations.
Relationship Management
Own and grow long-term relationships with key mulitfamily customers - from small scale mom and pop businesses, to national multifamily asset owners.
Serve as the primary point of contact for these accounts.
Deal Support & Execution
Collaborate closely with the sales, deployment, and operations / rebates teams to support active deals—coordinating site walks, contractor estimates, proposals, rebate applications, and technical feasibility assessments.
Act as a quota-carrying member of the sales team, contributing directly to revenue.
Standardization & Playbooks
Develop and refine standardized scopes of work, pricing benchmarks, and installation playbooks to ensure consistency across all partner-led deployments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with internal sales, operations, and product teams to ensure seamless handoff from contract to construction, and alignment between partner capabilities and customer needs.
Market Intelligence
Gather on-the-ground insights from contractors to inform product development, pricing strategy, and installation design improvements.
Qualifications
Required:
- 1+ years of experience in sales, business development, or consulting at an energy company, technology provider, real estate firm, or similar industry.
- Proven track record of deal development, document prepartion, negotiation, and closing deals with an established quota, activity goals, and a self-directed work regimine.
- Must be comfortable with quota carrying role.
- Highly operational—comfortable managing both strategy and day-to-day execution.
- Strong relationship builder with contractors, tradespeople, and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal, and in-person communication skills.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (HubSpot) and professional document development with Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- Strong understanding of energy indsutry, EV charging infrastructure, or similar energy hardware deployments.
- Experience in real estate
- Experience working with licensed electrical contractors or general contractors
- Experience working with utilities
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a team-first attitude.
- Knowledge of multifamily real estate and property development cycles.
