Director of Finance

Annex is growing rapidly, and the complexity of the business is following suit. We are:

• Offering new products and expanding into additional markets
• Forming new partnerships with capacity and retail distribution partners
• Expanding headcount across several functions

To accommodate this growth we are seeking an early career finance and operations professional who can work directly with the CEO to support the financial planning of the business.

Manage FP&A

• Work and support with financial operations and accounting team
• Maintain three statement model and cash flow forecast incorporating differences in various insurance products in different US states, channels, policy lifecycle KPIs and unit economics

Develop across-the-business KPIs

• Partner with financial operations, policy support, growth, and underwriting teams to understand business workflows
• Work with engineering team to extract data from key systems (Zendesk, policy admin system, Neon) to develop KPIs
• Own production reporting and narrative around sales growth, conversion and other KPIs to help management team understand changes in revenue
• Develop policy lifecycle metrics e.g. renewal retention, support and underwriting efficiency KPIs
• Unit economics optimization

Combine both understanding of financial projections and business KPIs to surface opportunities for improvement to the team. In addition, assist in creating materials for investors and other third parties.

This role is a great opportunity for an individual with ~7 years of corporate finance, venture capital or other investing, or potentially management consulting looking to transition to an operating role. The role would be based in San Francisco; this person would work closely with the management team.
