Spenza is building the infrastructure platform that enables Enterprises, OEMs, MVNOs, IoT companies, and distributors to launch and monetize connectivity products without building telecom infrastructure from scratch. We innovate on three fronts to build a vertically integrated telecom company, and the agents sit across all of them:
- Operator-neutral connectivity aggregation platform with mobile plan marketplace - a connectivity marketplace with integrated billing; buy, mix, and manage plans across carriers from one pane. Driver: eSIM adoption
- Agentic OS - agents that automate the full procure-to-pay and operations workflow: planning, provisioning, NOC, support, reconciliation. Driver: AI adoption
- Vertical integration - Control and orchestrate the network layer to match end business use case with real-time spot/dynamic pricing matching demand to operator supply: over-the-air profile switching, remote SIM management, plans created and changed on the fly. Driver: RSP & 5G network slicing.

If companies like Exotel, Plivo, and Twilio built programmable communications APIs for voice and messaging, Spenza is building the infrastructure layer for programmable connectivity and telecom monetization.
We are looking for a deeply technical, detail-oriented engineering leader who wants to help build a globally credible telecom infrastructure platform from India.
The Opportunity
What you’d build
Fine-tune and adapt models on telecom data — provisioning logs, network topologies, support transcripts, carrier specs — where it beats prompting/RAG.
Design the agent architecture for planning, provisioning, NOC anomaly detection, and support, with the guardrails and evals to run it safely in production.
Deploy into a live environment: our own ops team is the first customer — real traffic and a tight feedback loop from day one, not a pilot you have to go find.
Who you are
A strong engineer from a Tier-1 institute (IIT / BITS / NIT or equivalent) who has shipped in a startup and is comfortable with ambiguity. At least 4-6 years of IC experience with startup stints.
AI-native - you’ve fine-tuned/adapted models for generative AI workflows and built agentic systems.
Full-stack in practice: data pipelines, model training and serving, and the product engineering to put agents in front of customers.

You’d work in our Bangalore office, alongside the founder Vinaychandra Bharadwaj (ex- Tejas Networks, ex MoneyView, MBA- IIMB). This is a founding-level seat: you own the AI direction and hire the team behind you.
What You’ll Own
Telecom Platform Architecture
- Design and scale Spenza’s Telecom-as-a-Service platform architecture
- Build highly reliable backend systems for provisioning, orchestration, billing, and lifecycle management
- Architect scalable telecom workflows across operators, MVNOs, enterprises, and embedded connectivity products
- Improve platform reliability, resiliency, observability, and operational maturity
Enterprise-Grade Security & Compliance
- Lead engineering initiatives around SOC 2, GDPR, security hardening, auditability, and operational compliance
- Build secure-by-default engineering practices across the organization
- Improve identity management, access controls, logging, monitoring, encryption, and data governance
- Drive architecture and operational readiness for enterprise customers and global deployments
- Partner with leadership on security reviews, compliance readiness, and risk reduction
AI-Native Engineering Transformation
- Help make Spenza an AI-native engineering organization
- Introduce AI-assisted development workflows across engineering, QA, observability, documentation, and operations
- Improve developer productivity using modern AI tooling and automation
- Build engineering systems and processes that enable faster, higher-quality execution
- Evaluate and operationalize AI tooling responsibly within enterprise-grade security boundaries
OSS/BSS & Billing Systems
- Design and maintain mediation, charging, rating, invoicing, wallet, and telecom billing systems
- Improve reconciliation and telecom financial workflows
- Build scalable event-driven usage pipelines and subscriber lifecycle systems
- Architect APIs and systems for telecom monetization workflows
UCaaS / Telephony / Communications Infrastructure
- Work on SIP, VoIP, PBX, telephony, and messaging integrations
- Build integrations with telecom APIs, CPaaS providers, and operator systems
- Support voice, messaging, provisioning, and communication workflows
- Help evolve programmable telecom APIs and communications capabilities
Engineering Leadership
- Drive architecture reviews and engineering quality standards
- Mentor engineers and improve technical execution discipline
- Establish strong engineering processes, documentation standards, and operational rigor
- Build a culture of craftsmanship, ownership, and reliability
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
- Strong inclination/expertise in telecom software, OSS/BSS, UCaaS, CPaaS, telephony, communications infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS platforms
- Strong backend engineering and distributed systems experience
- Curiosity and drive to build an agentic engineering company and deploy agents for business use cases
- Experience building enterprise-grade systems with strong reliability and security requirements
- Deep attention to detail and engineering quality
- Experience working with telecom platforms, provisioning systems, or billing systems
- Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, observability, and infrastructure architecture
- Familiarity with security best practices, auditability, compliance workflows, and secure engineering practices
- Strong ownership mindset and execution velocity
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving startup environments
- Based in Bengaluru or willing to relocate for an in-office role
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in MVNO, OSS/BSS, telecom mediation, charging, or subscriber management systems
- Experience with SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, enterprise security practices, or compliance readiness
- Experience making engineering organizations more AI-native using developer tooling and workflow automation
- Experience in companies such as Exotel, Plivo, Twilio, telecom operators, UCaaS providers, or infrastructure startups
Experience with:
- Next.js / Node.js / React.js/ Typescript
- PostgreSQL / Redis / Kafka
- AWS / Kubernetes / Docker
- Event-driven systems and messaging infrastructure
Familiarity with eSIM platforms, IoT connectivity, or telecom compliance workflows
