About the job
Role Overview
Neuralix.AI is a deep-tech company building AI and data systems for mission-critical sectors. This role sits within our Delhi-based defence practice, where we work on sensitive programs with government and defence stakeholders.
We are hiring a Technical Project Manager to own the execution layer of these programs end-to- end. This is not a coordination or status-reporting role. You will drive multi-stakeholder engagements from scoping through delivery, work closely with engineering and data science teams, manage stakeholders directly, and build the operational discipline the practice runs on. You will report into senior management and be expected to form independent judgments, push back when the plan is wrong, and bring structure to problems that arrive undefined.
Key Responsibilities
● Drive end-to-end delivery of defence programs, from requirement capture and scoping through development, validation, and deployment.
● Translate stakeholder requirements into clear scopes, milestones, and acceptance criteria. Own the plan, own the slippage, own the recovery.
● Run the operating cadence (planning, standups, review gates, risk tracking) and make sure it produces decisions, not ceremony.
● Work closely with engineering and data science teams on design discussions, technical trade-offs, and execution priorities. Read the code when needed to challenge estimates, spot risks, and reason about deployability.
● Run engagements with defence stakeholders directly: technical reviews, demonstrations, requirement discussions, and progress updates with senior officers, scientists, and procurement leads.
● Navigate the process rigor the domain demands (documentation standards, review cycles, approval chains) without letting it stall execution.
● Coordinate with integration partners, OEMs, and third-party vendors where programs depend on external systems or data.
● Align internal engineering, product, and leadership around a single version of scope, priority, and commitment.
● Provide structure, mentorship, and day-to-day guidance to a young, high-velocity team on prioritization, estimation, and execution discipline.
● Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early, and drive them to resolution.
Required Skills & Experience
● 4 to 6 years in technical project management or a closely related role where you owned delivery outcomes.
● Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, with hands-on exposure to APIs, system architecture, or backend systems.
● Working understanding of AI/ML or data-driven products: how models are built, validated, and deployed, and what it takes to work alongside data science teams.
● Comfortable going deep into technical discussions. You can read code, reason about architecture, and debate design trade-offs credibly with engineers.
● Experience running delivery with senior external stakeholders. You have negotiated scope, handled escalations, and held commitments under pressure.
● Sharp written and verbal communication.
● Strong judgment under ambiguity.
● Fluency with standard execution tooling (Jira, Linear, or equivalent).
Preferred
● Background in Computer Science / Engineering
● Engineering or computer science background.
● Prior exposure to defence, aerospace, or government engagements.
● Experience in startup or fast-paced B2B environments.
What Makes You a Great Fit
● You drive, you don't coordinate. You close the gap between "we should" and "we did." ● You make calls. You form a view, take a position, and course-correct fast when wrong.
● You are technically credible. Engineers and data scientists respect your input because you've earned it, not because of your title.
● You push back well. You disagree with stakeholders, leadership, and engineers when the plan is wrong, and you do it in a way that moves the work forward.
● You operate well under constraint. Documentation overhead, approval chains, and information boundaries don't frustrate you into inaction.
● You think in systems and outcomes, not tickets and status.
