Senior Software Engineer (4+ years)

Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a proven track record of shipping end-to-end products at scale.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with product thinking — someone who can own features from architecture through deployment, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and elevate the team's engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and data models
• Build performant, user-facing applications with modern frontend frameworks, ensuring excellent developer and user experience
• Design and optimize background job processing, async workflows, and event-driven systems
• Own infrastructure and deployment pipelines, ensuring reliability, observability, and scalability
• Drive end-to-end delivery — from technical scoping and system design through implementation, testing, and production rollout
• Collaborate closely with product and design to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish engineering best practices across the team
• Make architectural decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong portfolio of shipped products
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
• Production experience with modern React frameworks and server-side rendering patterns
• Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs with Node.js backend frameworks
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, database design, and query optimization
• Experience with message queues, job scheduling, and background processing systems
• Solid understanding of container orchestration — deployments, services, scaling, and debugging production workloads
• Proven ability to design systems that handle real-world scale and failure modes
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical tradeoffs

Preferred Skills

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with observability tools — logging, metrics, and distributed tracing
• Background in event-driven architectures and distributed systems
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into production applications
• Previous work at early-stage startups or experience building products from 0→1
