OVERVIEW
Seeking a skilled 2D Illustration Artist for a freelance engagement on an animated feature film in development for a company. The role involves creating high-quality character and environment designs that will serve as the foundation for 3D modeling and visual development. The project includes a completed script, along with an established character bible and world-building framework.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create detailed 2D character designs (approximately 15 characters) with strong silhouettes, proportions, costume logic, and personality expression.
Develop turnarounds (front, side, back), expression sheets, and key poses.
Design three visually distinct yet cohesive worlds, including environments, architecture, and visual language.
Produce color scripts, lighting references, and key frames integrating characters within environments.
Ensure all illustrations are structured for clear 3D translation (form, volume, and layering).

REQUIREMENTS

Strong portfolio in character and/or environment illustration.
Solid understanding of form, depth, and design for 3D conversion.
Ability to maintain consistency across multiple characters and environments.
Awareness of current animation styles, trends, and visual storytelling techniques.
Affinity toward Indian culture and storytelling is a plus, not mandatory.

DELIVERABLES

Complete illustration packages for approximately 15 characters.
Three world design sets with environment visuals.
Turnarounds, expression sheets, and key cinematic frames.
Organized layered files suitable for 3D handoff.
Complete visual pitch package for the film, combining characters, worlds, and key frames into a cohesive presentation.

COMPENSATION

Paid per approved character illustration package.
Paid per approved world design set.
Milestone-based payments aligned with approvals.
