The Mission

As a Technical Consultant at Segmental, you will work closely with our enterprise customers to understand their workflows, design scalable technical solutions, and help deploy Segmental deeply into their infrastructure.

You will operate at the intersection of customer delivery, product thinking, system design, and hands-on engineering. Your goal is to translate complex enterprise requirements into practical, reliable, and scalable implementations.

We are looking for someone who can use modern AI development tools and coding agents to move significantly faster than traditional engineering workflows, while still maintaining strong technical judgment and architectural quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Enterprise Implementation: Lead the technical deployment of Segmental within complex enterprise environments, including cloud, on-premise, and hybrid setups.
• System Design: Design scalable systems, integrations, APIs, data flows, and deployment architectures that can support enterprise-grade workloads.
• AI-Accelerated Development: Use coding agents and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, debugging, documentation, testing, and implementation.
• Rapid Prototyping: Build custom features, integrations, and workflow-specific components for customers using a fast iteration mindset.
• Customer Solutioning: Work directly with customer engineering, product, and operations teams to understand their business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Maintenance and Evolution: Own the ongoing health of deployed systems, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements based on real customer usage.
• Product Feedback: Act as a product-minded technical partner by bringing customer requirements and field insights back to the core engineering and product teams.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously tune the Segmental stack to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance across large enterprise workloads.

Technical DNA

• Proficiency with Coding Agents: You must be highly proficient with coding agents and AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Replit Agent, or similar workflows. We expect you to use these tools not as a shortcut, but as a core part of your engineering workflow — to automate repetitive work, accelerate implementation, improve code quality, and spend more time on higher-order system design and problem-solving.
• Strong System Design: You should be able to think deeply about system architecture, including APIs, backend services, data pipelines, and integrations across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). You have a proven track record of designing for high availability and scalability using Kubernetes (K8s), high-performance caching layers like Redis, and relational databases like PostgreSQL. You should be comfortable designing systems that are not only functional, but also maintainable, enterprise-ready, and deeply observable using modern monitoring frameworks like Prometheus.
• Deployment Expertise: Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Full-Stack Capability: Strong backend engineering ability in Python, Go, Node.js, or similar languages, with enough front-end familiarity to navigate integrations and customer-facing workflows.
• Data Savvy: Experience working with data pipelines, ETL processes, databases, and large-scale data workflows.
• Enterprise Context: Comfortable working in enterprise environments with security, compliance, infrastructure, and stakeholder constraints.
