Position: Power BI/Superset Report Developer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Power BI/Superset Report Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards to support our business needs. This role will involve collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, translating business needs into data visualizations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data presented. The candidate will also be responsible for optimizing report performance, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI/Superset reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs.
- Translate business requirements into effective data visualizations and insights.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data presented in reports.
- Optimize report performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Provide technical support and assistance to users of Power BI/Superset reports.
- Stay current with Power BI/Superset best practices, updates, and new features.
- Document report development processes, standards, and procedures.
- Train end-users on how to effectively use Power BI/Superset.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to data visualization and reporting.
- Utilize MySQL and SQL Server experience to interact with databases, including query optimization, understanding relational database structures, and knowledge of indexes.
- Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating on concurrent developments and contributing to team success.
- Utilize version control tools such as Git and project management tools like Jira and Confluence or similar platforms as required.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in report development and data visualization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Power BI/Superset Report Developer/Writer or similar role.
- Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and SSRS, including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with SQL and data manipulation techniques.
- Understanding of relational database structures, query optimization, and indexing.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, or similar).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Power BI, SQL, Business Intelligence, or related technologies is preferred.
- Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) is a plus.
