Designing Trust for the Next Billion Users

Omara Technologies is building a Data + AI platform for the systems that move the world. We don’t build social feeds or shopping carts; we build the data & AI infrastructure for population-scale welfare, regulated fintech, and biotechnology.

The Mission

We operate where the stakes are highest. Our platform is deployed within state agencies to prevent fraud, optimize last-mile delivery, and automate clerical workloads that impact millions. We are a lean interdisciplinary team from Yale, UPenn, IIT, and the University of Sydney, and we believe that the most complex technical systems deserve the most elegant human interfaces.

The Craft

You will not be "making things pretty." You will be:

• Engineering Interpretability: Designing how a field officer understands a high-stakes AI prediction. You'll solve the "Black Box" problem through interface logic.
• Building for the "Edge": Designing workflows that remain robust in low-bandwidth, offline-first environments.
• Defining the System: Moving beyond screens to build a living design language that balances Sovereign-grade security with consumer-grade simplicity.

What You’ll Do

• Own the Vertical: Lead the end-to-end design of our core platform, from initial HCI research to pixel-perfect Figma components and final implementation oversight.
• Simplify Complexity: Take document-heavy, bureaucratic nightmares and transform them into intuitive, automated workflows that feel like magic to the end user.
• Bridge the Gap: Work in the trenches with Distributed Systems engineers to ensure our UI state management is as resilient as our backend.
• User Advocacy: Conduct high-signal field research with auditors and government agents to turn "messy reality" into structured product requirements.

Your Profile

• An Architect of Trust: You obsess over data provenance, auditability, and clarity. You know that in high-stakes environments, "simple" is a result of deep rigor.
• Technically Brave: You don't need to code, but you understand the DOM, the latency of a vector search, and the constraints of mobile hardware.
• The 1% Visual Bar: You have an elite eye for typography, information density, and motion. Your work feels "built," not just "drawn."

Qualifications

1. The Portfolio: A body of work showing high-fidelity, production-grade products (ideally in data-heavy or mission-critical environments). 2.** The Foundation**: Deep expertise in HCI, Interaction Design, and Information Architecture.
2. The Pedigree: Preferred B.Des or M.Des from institutions that prioritize both craft and logic (CMU, RISD, Parsons, NID, or equivalent).
