Our platform combines agronomic expertise with machine learning, weather data, and real-time field observations to help growers make faster, more confident decisions. We are seeking a motivated Junior Agronomist to join our founding team and support agronomic research and data-driven crop insights.

Role Overview

As a Junior Agronomist at Farm Insights, you will support agronomic research, data interpretation, and field-level analysis while working closely with senior agronomists, data scientists, and engineers. This role is ideal for an early-career agronomist eager to learn, grow, and apply core agronomic principles in a modern, technology-driven environment. You will help ensure agronomic accuracy across our platform while gaining hands-on exposure to precision agriculture and machine-learning-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Agronomic Research: Assist with field trials, crop monitoring, and agronomic research projects to support sustainable crop management.
• Data Analysis & Insight Support: Help analyze soil, tissue, water, and crop health data and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Model Validation & Ground-Truthing: Work with data science teams to review and validate agronomic outputs from machine learning models using sound agronomic principles.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate agronomic knowledge into Farm Insights’ analytics and reporting tools.
• Documentation & Knowledge Building: Contribute to agronomic documentation, best practices, and crop guidelines based on research and field data.
• Grower & Stakeholder Support: Assist in preparing agronomic summaries, reports, and presentations for internal teams and growers.

What We’re Looking For

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Horticulture, or a related field.
• Early-Career Experience: 0–3 years of experience in agronomy, crop production, field research, consulting, or related roles. Internships, university research, or farm experience are highly valued.
• Agronomic Foundations:
  • Understanding of soil health, fertility, crop nutrition, irrigation principles, and basic pest and disease identification.
• Interest in Data & Technology:
  • Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and digital tools.
  • Interest in precision agriculture, agronomic analytics, or decision-support systems.
  • Exposure to GIS, remote sensing, or agronomic software is a plus (not required).
• Strong Communication & Curiosity: Ability to communicate agronomic concepts clearly and a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
