Backend-Heavy Full Stack Engineer (3+ yrs): Chronon

About Chronon
Chronon is an infrastructure product for Finance and Accounting. We work with enterprises and large organisations to build products that streamline finance and accounting. We are profitable with a Founding Engineering team in place which has built the stack, serving to enterprises in India. Looking for someone who can help us expant the stack to other geographies.

What you'll do

• Build and own backend services in Python/Flask on PostgreSQL. That includes APIs, data models, migrations and background jobs.
• Work on the hard parts of fintech: wallet ledgers, card and bank reconciliation, payment reversals, idempotency and audit trails.
• Build AI pipelines that pull data out of receipts and invoices, sort expenses into categories and catch duplicates.
• Integrate with card issuers and ERPs such as MS Dynamics Business Central.
• Ship the frontend for your features in React and TypeScript. Expect about 70% backend and 30% frontend.
• Keep production healthy: query performance, monitoring with Sentry and Prometheus, deploys on AWS.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years building production backends in Python (Flask, Django or FastAPI).
• Strong SQL and Postgres skills. You can spot an N+1 query, design a schema that holds up over time and write safe migrations.
• Experience with REST APIs, auth (JWT), background jobs and third-party integrations.
• Enough React and TypeScript to build a complete feature on your own.
• You care about correctness. In this domain a ₹1 mismatch is a bug.
• Comfortable with Docker, Git and basic AWS.

Nice to have

• Fintech, payments or accounting experience (ledgers, reconciliation, double-entry).
• Experience building with LLMs (Claude, OpenAI) or document extraction.
• Startup experience where you owned features end to end.
