About Stell

Stell builds requirements management software for aerospace and defense programs. Engineers use it to write specifications, link every requirement down to the test evidence that proves it, and produce an audit-ready compliance matrix without weeks of manual prep.

Stell is deployed on U.S. Space Force and Air Force programs and used by commercial aerospace and defense contractors.

Our AI agent, Zelda, derives specs from source documents, finds coverage gaps, and builds compliance matrices. Engineers can also reach it from tools like Claude Code and Cursor through MCP.

There is a lot here for a designer to own: a document editor that switches into a structured matrix, an interactive requirements graph, test and evidence tracking, a portal for sharing specs with suppliers and customers, and an agent that has to show its reasoning to engineers who will be audited on the result.

In the Product Designer role you will: ###

Work directly with our CEO and CTO on what to build and why
Lead features from first concept through shipped product
Turn PRDs and tickets into Figma prototypes that show engineers the exact interactions and states to build
Design how engineers work with Zelda, including how they review what it proposes and see where each answer came from
Make large programs workable. Several customers run more than 10,000 requirements in the platform.
Talk with engineering daily and check that shipped features match the design
Watch customers use the product and iterate quickly on what you learn

Have a portfolio that shows strong UX, UI, and interaction design
Are fluent in Figma
Have designed B2B software for technical users
Have worked closely with engineering teams and shipped what you designed
Change your designs quickly when user feedback tells you to
Care more about getting features shipped than about perfect handoff files
Are a US citizen or green card holder

Nice to haves:

Experience designing AI-assisted or agentic workflows
Experience with complex workflows for hardware or systems engineers
Time at an early-stage startup
Software engineering or front-end experience
Background in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or engineering
Experience designing for regulated or audited environments
Experience running a project from idea to release and keeping people updated along the way
