Role Overview

Own critical backend systems powering Slikk’s 60-minute fashion delivery — order orchestration, inventory, payments, and logistics. You’ll build Django services on AWS/PostgreSQL that handle real-time demand, hyperlocal fulfillment, and high-throughput order pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and own backend services end-to-end using Django/DRF, PostgreSQL, and AWS (ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, SQS).
• Build real-time order orchestration — placement, payment capture, inventory reservation, dark store dispatch, and delivery tracking.
• Architect low-latency APIs powering the consumer app, rider app, and internal ops dashboards.
• Integrate third-party services: payment gateways, logistics partners, notification providers, and brand catalogue feeds.
• Drive engineering quality — code reviews, testing, observability (Sentry, CloudWatch), and mentoring junior engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 6+ years backend experience, 3+ years with Django in production.
• Deep PostgreSQL expertise — query optimisation, indexing, partitioning, migrations.
• Strong AWS hands-on: RDS, ElastiCache, SQS/SNS, ECS/EC2, S3, VPC.
• Experience with caching (Redis), async tasks (Celery), and event-driven patterns.
• Prior e-commerce, logistics, or marketplace backend experience preferred.
