Lead UI/UX Designer

We are seeking a Lead UI/UX Designer to join our team and play a pivotal role in crafting intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly designs for our machine learning products. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to deliver exceptional user experiences that make complex AI technologies accessible and engaging. Familiarity with full stack development concepts will enable seamless collaboration with our engineering team and ensure the feasibility of your designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design user-friendly interfaces and intuitive workflows for machine learning applications.
• Conduct user research, develop personas, and create user journey maps to inform design decisions.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Ensure designs are consistent, accessible, and aligned with brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure design feasibility and seamless integration into the development process.
• Stay informed about trends in UI/UX design, machine learning, and AI applications.
• Work within an Agile environment, iterating on designs based on user feedback and testing.
• Use design systems and reusable components to streamline development and ensure consistency.
• Understand and contribute to discussions about full stack development concepts (e.g., front-end frameworks, API integration).

Qualifications / Required Skills:

• Proven experience in designing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.
• Strong skills in user research and creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Familiarity with UI/UX tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.

Full Stack Development Familiarity:

• Understanding of front-end frameworks (e.g., React.js, Angular) to ensure design feasibility.
• Basic knowledge of API integration concepts for data-driven designs.
• Awareness of backend constraints that may impact design.

Machine Learning Industry:

• Experience designing for ML/AI applications or familiarity with ML workflows and terminology.
• Ability to simplify complex AI features into accessible user experiences.

Startup Experience:

• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments with cross-functional teams.
• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

General Skills:

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with Agile development teams.
• Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design principles.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience creating data visualization interfaces for complex datasets.
• Familiarity with tools and libraries for animations and transitions.
• Understanding of accessibility standards.
• Knowledge of AI/ML model explainability concepts and how they can be visualized effectively.
