Job Brief:
We are looking for a Data Steward for an IT consulting company with offices in Barcelona.
You will be a member of a dedicated team of professionals committed to managing, validating, and ensuring the quality, accuracy, and governance of organizational data to support business operations and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
-Establish and monitor key data management and governance metrics to ensure the accuracy and completeness of critical data within assigned domains.
-Maintain enterprise-level data standards and a centralized repository of key elements related to in-scope data (e.g., external data), promoting consistent usage across the organization.
-Design and implement data quality rules and monitor adherence to ensure data integrity.
Identify, classify, and catalog critical data elements to support organizational data management objectives.
-Conduct data discovery and analysis, assessing data completeness and fitness for purpose.
-Perform root cause analysis of data quality issues, define remediation plans, and oversee their execution at the source.
-Execute standardized onboarding policies for all relevant data sources globally.
-Partner with data vendors to ensure compliance with established onboarding processes.
-Conduct data privacy assessments for new data sources to ensure regulatory compliance
-Promote data accuracy and enforce adherence to data management and governance best practices.
-Ensure data-centric activities align with applicable standards, governance processes, and best practices across the organization.
Requirements and skills:
-4-7 years of experience in Data Governance or Data Management within the retail, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or a similar industry.
-Proficiency in SQL, Python, Databricks, and Informatica tools (EDC, Axon, IDQ).
-Strong expertise in data management, including data ingestion, proper usage/consumption, data quality, and stewardship.
-Experience developing Data Dictionaries and creating both technical and business data catalogs.
-Skilled in drafting and implementing data policies, business processes, and business glossaries.
-Capability to design logical data models and orchestration requirements, managing these models for Enterprise Analytics in collaboration with ingestion and curation leads.
-Experience in developing and tracking complex performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
-Familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra, Master Data Management (MDM) platforms, and Informatica solutions.
-Ability to collaborate with both business and technical subject matter experts to ensure operational information is standardized and enterprise-wide data governance policies are executed effectively.
