About the Role:Madison Logic is seeking a proactive, detail oriented individual to join our Finance Department. The Junior Accountant will assist in the day-to-day accounting operations, leading with routine and non-routine duties with an emphasis on general ledger management, month end close, account reconciliations and financial analysis. The Junior Accountant will assist the Finance Department and management in the improvement of existing accounting processes and internal controls while helping to develop and implement new policies.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain day to day accounting activities and month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Prepare VAT / GST / TDS returns and ensure timely payment and account reconciliation
- Bank posting and reconciliation
- Review and approve employee expenses; ensuing accuracy with account classification & adherence to policy
- Ensure accurate calculation of monthly commissions, resolve queries, preparation of accruals and reconciliations
- Record monthly intercompany transactions, reconcile to audited financial statements and propose settlements
- Assist in compliance and annual reporting across all international entities
- Assist with international payroll
- Assist in AP verification relating to international tax allocations and approvals
- Gather information and prepare schedules and documentation to support the financial statement audits in all International jurisdictions
- Assist in special projects which may involve assisting with interdepartmental initiatives and ad hoc reports
- Keep abreast of and apply, accounting guidance, and relative company policies, practices, and procedures
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of related work experience in a similar industry and/or public accounting experience
- Solid understanding of internal controls and accounting processes
- Knowledge and experience with medium/large ERP Systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Sage etc.)
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications with a focus on Excel
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across all business departments
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
