The FP&A and Sales Compensation Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities, with an additional focus on analyzing and administering sales compensation plans. This role will involve working closely with Finance, Sales, and HR teams to ensure that sales incentive structures align with company goals. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of finance principles, and experience with sales compensation or commission plans.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with annual budget and quarterly forecast development; collaborate on financial inputs and monitor actuals vs. forecasts.
- Sales Compensation: Administer, and analyze sales compensation plans; calculate and ensure timely, accurate commission payouts; recommend adjustments based on performance and benchmarks.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; analyze financial and sales data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Financial Modeling and Variance Analysis: Build and maintain models to support planning; conduct scenario analysis and monthly variance analysis to explain financial and sales performance.
- Process Improvement and Special Projects: Drive process enhancements in reporting and compensation; support ad-hoc financial analysis, including M&A and strategic projects.
Requirements for Success:
- 2-4 years in financial or sales compensation analysis, ideally in FP&A.
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or similar field.
- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint; strong data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with GAAP principles, attention to detail, and ability to manage tight timelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Helpful for Success:
- Experience with CRM tools (SugarCRM preferred), Adaptive Insights, and NetSuite.
- Familiarity with sales compensation tools (e.g., Xactly, Anaplan) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- SaaS industry experience and strong accounting knowledge.
