Seamstress

Kalogon, an early stage startup based in Melbourne, seeks a sewing expert to help us deliver our award-winning products, Orbiter and Orbiter Med. We produce our products in the offices in Melbourne, FL. Each cushion has a fabric cover and must be sewn to order.

Kalogon redefines seating through patent-pending technology featuring our advanced pressure management. Kalogon’s products create a clinically validated experience for seated tissue health using adaptive customizations, ambient adjustments, and personalized settings to improve comfort and lessen fatigue for those who sit for extended periods such as wheelchair users, pilots, and drivers.

Required skills:

• Expert seamstress skills
• Able to meet production deadlines, while meeting quality standards
• Eye for detail
• Skilled at operating industrial sewing machines and other tools such as sergers including set up
• Experience sewing four way stretch fabric and installing zippers into the same
• Knowledge of crafting patterns that can take a similar design up or down in size
• Ability to develop patterns from scratch in conjunction with production and custom order requirements
• Willingness and eagerness to collaborate with production team members to deliver products on time
• Be able to turn around orders within 2 business days, with some flexibility for rush orders that will be needed within 1 business days
• Manage all administrative functions for necessary controls so that individual orders are well managed
• Excellent communication skills for working with our team
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation
