Founding Engineer (Unity & iOS)

Meevee is looking for a technical partner to help build a startup using AI to craft better early-childhood content for kids and parents. This role offers the opportunity to design and prototype something entirely new, with equity and the potential to transition into a larger role once funding is secured.

About Meevee

Founded in 2024 by a small team with roots in tech (WeTransfer, Bitmoji, Snapchat, Craft Docs) and academia, Meevee is reimagining early childhood content. In the streaming era, kids’ programming has been optimized for repeat views and captivation (think CoComelon and Pinkfong). Meevee believes children and their parents deserve better.

We’re building the next generation of content using AI to focus on children’s developmental milestones and parents' goals. Our vision includes custom music, personalized avatars that put kids at the center of their stories, and smart limits that help kids ease out of screen time.

The Role

As a founding engineer, you’ll work across disciplines, creating quick prototypes to prove ideas and sustainable solutions for the long term. You might jump from building a Unity demo one day to integrating an iOS app with a backend API the next. This is a highly collaborative role, offering both technical and strategic influence as we shape the future of Meevee.

About You

You’re excited by the chance to pioneer a new category of AI-powered, interactive content. You’ve worked on 3D games or interactive experiences, ideally for iOS, and have experience with Unity. You’re equally comfortable fine-tuning character animations in Unity or setting up API integrations for a personalized, dynamic user experience.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in Unity and iOS development, including character and scene setup.
• Familiarity with connecting to third-party APIs for features like chat support, auth, etc.
• Leadership experience (senior engineer, lead, principal, or CTO roles preferred).
• Comfort with both scrappy prototyping and long-term architectural planning.
