About the Senior Software Engineer Role:
We seek highly skilled and motivated full stack software engineers with experience in C# and .NET Core development to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable software solutions that cater to local and state government agencies.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and integrate with backend systems.
The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, has a strong understanding of software development best practices, and thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
You will work closely with a team of Software Engineers to architect and implement technology solutions such as web, mobile, and hybrid architectures, following agile methodologies and working closely with clients and the rest of the PayIt team.
This candidate is ideally based out of Kansas City or Nashville, however, highly qualified candidates will also be considered in the following markets (AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, NH, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI).
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop high-quality code for PayIt’s suite of products
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver software solutions based on specifications
- Design and implement user-friendly interfaces and intuitive user experiences that align with the unique needs of state government agencies.
- Develop robust backend systems, APIs, and services to support front-end applications.
- Perform peer reviews of code written by others
- Apply best practices to code development, including developing unit tests and applying secure coding techniques
- Mentor junior developers on the team.
- Work with the scrum team daily
- Contribute to decisions made on determining effort and complexity
- Participate in scrum ceremonies
What You’ll Need to Have:
- Proven professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer, with a focus on C# development and 2+ years experience in .NET Core and Entity Framework.
- Strong experience with SQL Server and database design/development using SQL Server (we are currently on 2019 and greater)
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as Javascript, JQuery, and Bootstrap
- Practical knowledge of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Solid understanding of source control systems (Git, SVN) and Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS, and deploying applications to cloud environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A self-starter who succeeds by researching solutions and solving problems.
- Experience with RESTful Web Services.Understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices around ASP.NET and MVC Architectures
