Financial Accountant (Part-time)

The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our small but mighty Finance team! This role plays a crucial part in providing precise and timely financial, accounting, and administrative support to our business. As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing payment processing, expense oversight, payroll, and various financial reporting duties. Your role will serve as a linchpin in maintaining the financial health of Showpo.

This is a part-time position where we are open to days/hours according to the candidate. Please specify on application which days/hours you would be looking to work.

Day to day, you will:

• Execute payment runs and diligently reconcile expenses, purchase orders, invoices and statements to the general ledger.
• Calculate and process payroll transactions, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements
• Monthly lodgment of GST/IAS/BAS Activity Statements while ensuring compliance, including support for international tax compliance.
• Assist in the closeout of month end performing general ledger entries
• Act as the key financial liaison with wholesale operations to facilitate accurate invoicing and efficient collections of receivables
• Reconcile credit card transactions and follow up on receipts from the team
• Engage in data reconciliation related to inventory management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries regarding payments and credits
• Continuously improve the payments process by developing procedures and supporting the team

Who are you?

• Possess relevant accounting or finance qualifications
• CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
• 3yrs + in similar accounting role
• Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Experience with SME accounting packages (particularly Xero)
• Excellent Excel/Google Suite skills
