Our mission is to reinvent the way people learn, starting with language. We begin by teaching the next billion people English, Spanish, and French.
English is the global language of business, culture, and communication, and over 1.5 billion people around the world are actively trying to learn right now. Others dream of communicating with the half-billion native Spanish speakers across the globe. The problem is that it's nearly impossible to learn to speak a language without constant access to a speaking partner. Grammar and vocab apps don't really help – you need to actually converse with someone.
Speak is on a journey to fix this. We're creating an AI-powered experience that replicates the flow of a conversation, without needing a human on the other end. The goal is to make it radically more accessible to be able to have conversations in a foreign language and eventually help hundreds of millions of people gain fluency who otherwise wouldn't be able to.
We started on this journey over five years ago and we've still got a long ways to go. We're thoughtfully adding new team members only when we think they can truly play a big role in our mission.
Speak launched first in South Korea where we have quickly grown to become the top grossing education app in the country. We have now delivered this winning product to more than 30 countries globally and are continuing to expand to more markets in the coming months. The company is well funded, raising a recent Series B backed by investors like OpenAI, Founders Fund, Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, Lachy Groom, Josh Buckley, and others. We’re a team of 75 based primarily in SF, Seoul, Tokyo, and Ljubljana.
About This Role
As Speak continues to grow in Korea across all types of users, Speak for Business (S4B) offers a unique opportunity for enterprises and organizations in developing their employees and members. We are currently partnering with some of the largest companies and platforms in South Korea, with more growth ahead with further outbound sales & marketing. We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Intern to support this B2B growth, who will help unlock the operations of both offline (events, networking, customer meet-ups) and online (digital ads, webinars, etc.) marketing efforts.
This role is a full-time commitment (40 hrs/week), starting with a 3-month contract. We're looking for someone who can start in Q4 2024. There will be opportunities to extend and/or convert!
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be working with our S4B Marketing Lead directly to support all aspects of B2B marketing operations in South Korea, including:
Event Coordination and Support: assist on venue & vendor management, attendee registration, and other logistics for both in-person and online events
Digital Marketing Campaign Support: set up monthly trial accounts for potential customers, research best practices, organize campaign content using marketing tools, brainstorm and support ideation of campaigns, and draft copies for email or social media posts
Market Research, Competitor Analysis, and Data Operations: support strategic planning through data and research, manage CRM data and operation, assist with HubSpot setup for landing pages and form submissions, and support overall data enrichment efforts to improve marketing performance analyses
What we’re looking for
Degree in Business/Marketing or equivalent experience
Strong communication skills, especially in marketing context
Native-level Korean speaker; conversational or business English a huge plus!
Previous experience in event or campaign planning and coordination
Passion for growth as a marketer with curiosity in B2B marketing and its impact on business
Attention to detail and an eye for quality, creativity and innovation
A go-getter with a strong willingness to learn and adaptability to take on new challenges
Interest in the EdTech or B2B solution space a huge plus
