The Developer Experience team at Sendbird continuously maintains a connection with the Tech Community and supports customer developers who build applications and businesses on the Sendbird platform. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the developer experience by creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that helps developers understand and utilize Sendbird's products effectively.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about technology and skilled in translating complex technical concepts into easily understandable content. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and developer advocates to ensure that our documentation meets the needs of the developer community.
What you will do
- Create and Maintain Documentation: Develop and maintain high-quality documentation for Sendbird's APIs, SDKs, and other developer tools, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and developer advocates to gather information and ensure that documentation is up-to-date and reflects the latest product features and best practices.
- User Feedback: Collect and incorporate feedback from external developers to continuously improve documentation and ensure it meets the needs of the developer community.
- Content Creation: Produce a variety of content, including tutorials, guides, code samples, and FAQs, to help developers understand and use Sendbird's products effectively.
- Research and Benchmarking: Conduct comprehensive research and benchmarking of competitor SDKs/APIs, B2B product trends, and developer community activities to ensure our documentation remains competitive and relevant.
What you'll bring to the role
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Writing and Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Development Experience: Hands-on experience with one or more platforms such as Android, iOS, React, React Native, or Flutter.
Bonus Points
- Front-end Tasks: Ability to perform front-end tasks to improve our documentation web page, which is developed using React.
- Content Creation: Experience creating content for platforms like Medium, Dev.to, personal blogs, etc.
- Experience with APIs, SDKs, and client libraries, and familiarity with third-party developer tools.
- Experience as a Technical Writer or Developer Advocate.
