Position Overview

We’re looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with expertise in Domain, DNS, and EPP to join our growing team. In this role, you will design and maintain backend systems that support domain registration, DNS management, and EPP-based processes. Your work will enable high-performance, scalable solutions for managing domain lifecycles and ensure optimal security, efficiency, and reliability in our platform.

Responsibilities

  • Backend Services for Domain Operations: Design and implement backend services for handling domain registration, renewal, and transfer processes using EPP (Extensible Provisioning Protocol).
  • DNS Management and DNSSEC Signing: Build, configure, and secure DNS systems, including DNSSEC signing to enhance domain integrity and prevent tampering.
  • EPP Implementation and Integration: Develop and manage EPP-based protocols for domain management, ensuring smooth interactions with registries and registrars.
  • Performance Profiling and Optimization: Monitor backend systems to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance for scalability and efficiency.
  • Database and Storage Management: Create and manage databases to handle domain records and DNS data with high availability and reliability.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with frontend, DevOps, and other engineering teams to ensure a smooth, unified user experience.
  • Security Standards: Implement industry-standard security practices to safeguard domain operations and sensitive data.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ Years experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role with a focus on domain, DNS, and EPP systems.
  • In-depth Knowledge of EPP: Expertise in the Extensible Provisioning Protocol for domain lifecycle management.
  • DNS and DNSSEC: Proficient in DNS configurations, DNSSEC signing, and management of DNS records.
  • Proficiency in Backend Languages: Strong skills in backend programming languages (such as Python, Go, Java, or Node.js).
  • Performance Optimization: Experience in performance profiling and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Database Management: Strong background in managing relational and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • API Development: Experience in building RESTful APIs and familiarity with GraphQL.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Familiarity: Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Security Best Practices: Strong understanding of security measures, especially around DNS and domain transactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High-Performance Systems: Knowledge in building systems that handle high traffic and ensure low-latency responses.
  • Experience with DNS Platforms: Familiarity with popular DNS management solutions and platforms.
  • Interest in Domain and Internet Infrastructure: A genuine interest in domains, DNS, and internet infrastructure best practices.
