Pumpkin is looking for a highly skilled Senior IT Specialist to lead and manage our day-to-day IT operations, with a focus on ensuring the efficiency and security of our Apple-centric environment. In this role, you will oversee device management, support InfoSec initiatives, and drive SaaS and SSO integrations that are critical to the organization’s success. As the primary liaison for external vendors and internal teams, you will play a key role in maintaining our infrastructure, supporting employees, and implementing IT projects. Your expertise will have a direct and lasting impact on the productivity, security, and growth of Pumpkin, and enable us to significantly improve the lives of pets, their owners, and veterinarians!
This will be a hybrid position, with a minimum requirement of 3 days a week in the Columbus, OH office. Some travel will be required (~5%).
What You'll Do:
- Oversee all employee hardware management, including onboarding, offboarding, patch updates & security configurations, via a Mobile Device Management (MDM) System.
- Lead the integration and migration of SaaS applications, with an emphasis on SSO or Google OAuth implementation and alignment with security standards.
- Train and support employees across multiple locations on business applications and security practices, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring SLA compliance and continuous improvement of MSP performance.
- Resolve Tier 2/3 IT support issues, including advanced troubleshooting, network configurations, and complex SaaS integrations.
- Manage and execute IT projects, such as office maintenance and software migrations, ensuring timely completion and effective delivery.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, with a focus on managing Apple (MacOS/iOS) and GSuite ecosystems.
- Expertise in managing MDM solutions (e.g., Mosyle, Jamf) for corporate environments
- Strong background in security and compliance, including experience with SEIM tools, SaaS integrations, and security protocols like SSO and MFA.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and contractors, ensuring compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs) and optimizing performance.
- Experience with IT project management, including leading office moves, system migrations, and network upgrades.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to proactively report on IT blockers, risks, and progress to management, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
- Strong soft skills like problem-solving and collaboration, especially in fast-paced environments where cross-functional teamwork and employee support are critical.
Bonus Points:
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS) and cloud security practices, which will enhance the company’s tech stack and improve IT operations.
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., scripting, AppleScript, or PowerShell) to streamline IT processes, improve efficiencies, and reduce manual interventions.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies to bridge Apple environments with cross-platform needs.
