About the job
About Somethings:
Somethings is a youth mental health platform that connects low-income teens with trained mentors who have personal mental health experience. We partner with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations to provide accessible, impactful support, backed by top investors like General Catalyst. As we expand, we’re looking for a Recruiter and Training Specialist to attract top talent and create a robust training program that prepares mentors and staff to make a real difference.
Role Overview:
The Recruiter and Training Specialist will lead hiring and onboarding, focusing on mentor recruitment, and develop training that equips team members with essential skills like trauma-informed care, peer support, and crisis management. The ideal candidate is highly people-oriented, has experience building successful communities, and loves working collaboratively. You're a great fit for the roll if you want to go above and beyond to find the best people in the world to support high-risk youth: this is not a 9-5 job and we are looking for someone who wants to go all in and learn/grow like crazy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruitment: Oversee the recruitment process, from sourcing to hiring for mentors, clinical staff, and operational roles. Partner with hiring managers and build pipelines through outreach and networking.
• Training: Create and deliver training programs, ensuring staff are well-prepared in key areas like peer support and crisis response. Continuously evaluate and improve training outcomes.
• Community Building: Cultivate a collaborative, supportive environment for team growth. Ensure alignment with Medicaid standards and collaborate with internal teams for seamless integration of training.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Psychology, or related field
• 3+ years in recruitment and training, ideally in mental health or social services
• Proven experience in community-building and team collaboration
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
Who you are:
You are the friend in your friend group who is always planning events and hosting
You are the friend who all of your friends turn to for advice
You are obsessed with building community and supporting others
You have insanely high EQ and can tell if others do
