The problem
Let’s face It - dating apps don’t work. Most, if not all, of us have tried our hands and found all sorts of people we weren’t looking to find, and haven’t found the one we were. So a couple of us thought - hey, that’s it. No more. Intimate relationships sit right above basic needs in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. That’s how fundamental they are, and it’s about time somebody made it easier for all the lonely souls out there to find someone they can spend their Sundays with.
The team
We are currently two co-founders - one with a decade long experience working in tech for multiple Fortune 500 companies and another with a top tier MBA and experience scaling a Series B start-up looking to hire the first employee.
The stage
We are currently early stage, stealth, working day in day out to perfect the product which we arrived at after a ton of market research. We are weeks away from launch and feel now is the perfect time to have someone to lead the GTM, and start creating the pre-launch buzz.
The role (1)
We are looking for someone who
- is extremely passionate about start-ups and wants to start-up in the future
- isn’t married to one function and feels they would enjoy working in growth / marketing
- believes that performance marketing isn’t the way to grow
- has taste, and can tell quality and crappy content apart
- is a believer in the lost art of storytelling
- believes that what we learn today compounds, and the right exposure in itself is worth millions
- believes that the biggest reward for work is work itself
- is maniacally obsessed with the highest standards of quality in whatever they do
- believes in commitment and is ready to commit to one problem for the next couple of years at least
- has demonstrated history of being smart
We are NOT looking for someone who
- is looking for the next short term gig before jumping on to another job
- isn’t extremely hands-on and wants to become a manager
- doesn’t spend most of their free time reading
What does not make a difference
- whether you have 10 years of experience or you’ve got 2 more years of college left
- whether you have prior experience working in marketing
- whether you have prior experience working in a start-up (although it will be a plus)
- whether you are already working in a full-time job that you don’t want to quit right now (you can start part-time also)
What you will do
There is a singular objective for this role - figure out how to acquire users cheaply. That would involve running a lot of experiments, and hence a growth mindset would really help. You will all the liberty of execution and will get all the support you need in terms of technical know-how from the rest of the team, but the metric will be yours completely.

Finances
We are 100% bootstrapped and not looking to raise funds right now because we fundamentally feel that it makes no business or ethical sense to raise before having established PMF. Also, who wants to dilute so early when you have so much conviction?
The role (2)
Compensation
Since we’re bootstrapped and pre-revenue, we don’t want people who are in for the money. While we would be happy to give a stipend that helps the person support themselves should they need that, the main lure has got to be the equity, which is what we are in for too.
We plan to hit the market by the end of the year, and the sooner we hit PMF, the sooner we should be able to start making revenues, and if required, raise funds.
Location
100% remote for the foreseeable future.
Commitment required
~15 hours a week at the onset. Very likely to grow in the future.
