Demiurge Studios is seeking an experienced senior producer or development director to lead production on our newest project! You will be an integral part of the project team’s leadership, working closely with the Executive Producer. Production leads are accountable for development execution, including development strategy, project planning, and risk management.
In this role, you will proactively work to identify and remove any obstacles to success. Your mission is to enable the dev team to do their best work. You have many tools in your toolbox, and know how to customize them, adapting to new and complex challenges. You are as comfortable leading from the front as you are acting as a support behind the scenes. You navigate easily between strategic and operational work, and use that skill to keep the team aligned and motivated.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the EP and discipline leads to define the development strategy and methodology.
- Maintain strong connections with internal and external stakeholders, sharing progress, setting expectations, and resolving any issues that arise.
- Build, validate, and maintain a clear development plan, including dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks - in technology, timeline, staffing, and general team health.
- Lead the team’s production staff on a day-to-day basis, ensuring they have clear goals and objectives and are leading their groups effectively.
- Collaborate and negotiate with project leadership to evaluate trade-offs among scope, time-to-market, and quality.
- Coordinate development efforts from the front line, focusing effort, driving for outcomes, and keeping your team motivated.
Qualifications
- 10+ years game industry experience (or equivalent professional experience), including time as Lead Producer or Development Director.
- Experience working in a leadership role through each phase of the game product life cycle (e.g. prototype, pre-production, production, launch, and live operations)Experience leading cohesive, creative teams ranging in size from 10 to 60 people.
- Demonstrated ability to create aligned project roadmaps and timelines, and to adapt them to each phase of development.
- Proficiency in driving process change under a variety of agile and fixed-time development processes.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality products under budget, time & resource constraints.
- History of successfully working with external stakeholders and navigating client and vendor relationships.
- Ability to lead distributed teams, including a mix of internal developers, co-development partners, and outsourcing.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including motivation, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
- Experience developing (and playing!) 3D action games, especially open-world RPGs
- Bonus points for other discipline experience (engineering, art, design, etc).
