About the job

Meadow Memorials is a contemporary funeral home offering simple cremations, personalized memorials, and transparent pricing. We make things easier for grieving families in their time of need. Most of us are not prepared for losing a loved one, and the existing funeral offerings are often outdated and hard to navigate.

We are partnering with the city’s best venues to provide a new level of service. We pride ourselves on great customer care, unreasonable hospitality, and transparent pricing - and we have grateful families as a result.

Operations Associate Los Angeles

As our Operations Associate, you will play a key role in developing essential processes within our operations, piece by piece. To start, your main responsibility will be coordinating, packaging, and delivering urns with the utmost care and respect. This role ensures families receive these sacred items in a timely and respectful manner. You will manage this process from inventory to delivery while interacting with families to meet their unique needs.

This is an in-person role in Los Angeles that requires travel between locations to receive, inventory, and deliver urns. We provide mileage reimbursement.

We are looking for candidates who can work at minimum 30 hours per week up to full time. If you excel in hospitality, are organized, and enjoy helping others, this role can lead to multiple career paths at Meadow. We are in a growth phase, and this role offers significant opportunities for advancement as we grow.

Our objectives for the role

  • Build a working on-the-ground operation, prototype the best process, then optimize and find the right solution to scale.

  • Urn Packaging & Delivery Coordination:

  • Inventory Management:

  • Viewing Coordination: (If applicable)

We’re looking for:

  • Customer Service Experience: At least 2 years in a customer-facing role (e.g., delivery driver, retail, hospitality), where you’ve managed sensitive interactions with professionalism.

  • Independence: Comfortable working independently and proactively to manage logistics, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely deliveries.

  • Empathy & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide comfort and clarity to families during emotionally challenging times.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and transport packages (up to 25 lbs) and manage inventory.

  • Logistical Savvy: Previous experience managing deliveries or coordinating multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment.

  • Tech Skills: Comfortable using smartphones, GPS apps, and basic inventory management tools to track and log deliveries.

  • Valid Driver’s License: Must have a valid license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle. Familiarity with Los Angeles is a plus.

Why Join us?

  • Above all, we’re in this to support families in one of the most difficult times. If we succeed, dealing with the loss of a loved one will become less painful, leaving more space to celebrate their life than mourn their death. If that speaks to you, speak to us.

  • We have much left to build. But given the market feedback we’re getting and our founding team’s company-building experience, we think we are writing the first chapters of a real success story.

  • Experience as an early team member in a growing startup. A role like this molds to its owner, but inevitably stretches and grows you as well.

Benefits

  • Flexible, Reliable Schedule: Monday – Friday

  • Full Benefits Fast: Full health benefits (medical, dental, vision) kick in within your first month, plus sick leave and more.

  • Be Valued: Be part of a team that recognizes your hard work and celebrates your wins.

  • Independence with Support: Work on your own but still have the support of a great team when you need it.
