About the role...
We’re looking for a founding member of the newly formed India Growth team. Your role will be to rapidly expand our user base in India by delivering product features. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape growth strategies, identify and resolve retention and engagement problems for our learners in India who are mainly learning English. Join us to make a significant impact on Duolingo’s key business metric DAU in one of our most important markets.
You will...
- Be responsible for growing DAUs in India through market-specific strategies and initiatives
- Drive product features through their entire creative cycle: ideation, specification, development, release, analysis, and iteration
- Establish the strategy for India user growth, and build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners, and leadership team
- Perform qualitative and quantitative research to explore and validate feature ideas
- Work with engineers to help guide feature development
- Perform experiment analysis on features and find opportunities for optimization
You have...
- Proven track record of achieving rapid user growth in India for a consumer-facing app with a global user base
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in product management
- A desire to make the world a better place through technology and education
- Demonstrated self-direction while navigating ambiguity in fast-paced, evolving projects
- Ability to apply user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisions
- An instinct for creating simple and intuitive user experiences
- Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, curious, and innovative

- Experience leading projects and teams
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Design, or equivalent
- Ability to work from or relocate to Bangalore, India
