Position Overview:
We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and drive the development of our innovative AI-powered educational platform. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and a passion for transforming education through technology.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define and execute the overall technology strategy aligned with Bloom Learning's mission and business goals.
2. Lead the development of our AI-driven adaptive learning platform, overseeing all aspects of technology from architecture to implementation.
3. Spearhead innovations in AI, machine learning, and data science applications for education, particularly in adaptive assessments and personalized learning.
4. Oversee the development and evolution of our mathematics knowledge graph and its integration with Cognitive Diagnostic Models (CDMs) and knowledge tracing models.
5. Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
6. Make key technology decisions, including choice of stack, development methodologies, and third-party integrations.
7. Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of our platform as we grow.
8. Collaborate with product and education teams to translate pedagogical needs into technical solutions.
9. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and EdTech trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
10. Manage technology budgets, resources, and partnerships.
11. Act as a technology evangelist, representing Bloom Learning at conferences and with key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

1. Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
2. 10+ years of technology leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
3. Proven track record of building and scaling innovative technology products, preferably in EdTech or AI-driven platforms.
4. Deep expertise in AI, machine learning, and data science, particularly in educational applications.
5. Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud technologies, and agile development methodologies.
6. Experience with adaptive learning technologies, psychometrics, or educational assessment systems.
7. Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
8. Passion for education and using technology to improve learning outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with Cognitive Diagnostic Models and/or knowledge tracing models or similar advanced frameworks.
2. Knowledge of UK educational standards and curriculum
3. Background in or strong understanding of mathematics education
4. Track record of successful patent applications or publications in relevant fields
5. Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
