Staff Software Engineer - Modeling and Architecture

Untether AI is building the world’s highest performance pure-digital AI inference chip. We’re a rapidly growing Toronto-based startup, with employees across Canada and the US, building next generation hardware AI accelerators for neural net inference. We are investing in software in a big way in order to make it as seamless as possible for researchers and developers to successfully deploy neural networks on our hardware.

The early productization team works at the frontiers of AI technologies including areas such as large language model generative AI, autonomous vehicles, and next generation silicon. We have an immediate need to expand the architecture modeling capabilities of the team.

As a modeling team member you will be responsible for developing near cycle accurate C++ models of our next generation HW and using those models to help shape next generation silicon architectures. On any given day your work could include:

• Writing high performance, production quality C++ simulation models- Collaboratively, with the CTO office, exploring next gen silicon architecture innovations,- Working closely with our HW design team both to model what they are building and validate that our HW designs match the architectural intent.

• Computer science, engineering or related degree
• 5+ years of experience
• Creative problem solver, passionate about solving hard problems
• Strong C++ development skills required
• Working hardware knowledge (architecture, circuits, RTL)
• Experience with tuning and optimizing code for high performance

Preferred Skills

• Master or PhD in Computer science, engineering or related field
• Experience delivering high performance software to production
• Hardware design experience (architecture, circuits, RTL) a plus
• Familiarity with neural net frameworks
• Strong communication skills
