Odoo Implementation Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Odoo Implementation Engineer to lead the migration and implementation of our ERP system from a traditional SQL-based ERP to Odoo ERP. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the entire implementation process, from planning and data migration to configuration and post-deployment support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business operations, data engineers, and senior management, ensuring a seamless and efficient transition to Odoo ERP. This role combines technical expertise with project management, requiring a deep understanding of ERP systems, migration processes, and Odoo configuration.

Key Responsibilities

• ERP Implementation & Migration:
  • Lead the end-to-end migration from an existing SQL-based ERP system to Odoo ERP.
  • Plan and oversee the migration process, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime.
  • Map and migrate master data, transactional data, and custom business processes to Odoo.
  • Customize and configure Odoo modules to meet business requirements.
• Project Management:
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, including planning, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand current business processes and translate them into Odoo workflows.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, identifying risks and proposing solutions to keep the project on track.
• Data Management:
  • Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from the legacy system.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and validation during migration to Odoo.
  • Optimize data architecture in Odoo ERP to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities.
• Technical Support & Customization:
  • Configure Odoo ERP modules (e.g., Sales, Inventory, Accounting, etc.) to align with specific business needs.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and in-house engineers to implement custom modules, APIs, and integrations.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and training to the team post-migration.
• Process Improvement & Documentation:
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and automate workflows using Odoo’s capabilities.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of customizations, workflows, and best practices for future reference.
  • Develop user training materials and conduct training sessions for key team members.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Required:
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Odoo ERP implementation, including module customization and data migration.
  • ERP Knowledge: Strong understanding of ERP processes across various domains (e.g., finance, inventory, manufacturing, sales).
  • Database Expertise: Familiarity with SQL-based ERP systems and experience with SQL queries for data extraction.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing ERP implementation projects, including scoping, planning, and execution.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Python, PostgreSQL, XML, and APIs; comfortable with scripting and automating processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to solve complex migration challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred:
  • Experience in the aerospace aftermarket or distribution industry.
  • Familiarity with Odoo Studio or other Odoo customization tools.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools like Power BI or similar platforms.
  • Certifications in Odoo or related ERP platforms.
