Job Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Global Compensation & Benefits, the Director of Compensation will work closely with Coupang Leadership teams and cross-functional partners to make a significant impact via strategic planning, design, evaluation, communication, and overall management of employee compensation and benefits.This role requires in-depth knowledge and experience on advising on global total rewards programs, and an established track record of delivering innovative, successful approaches to talent attraction and retention. The ideal candidate must be organized, with great attention to detail and accuracy; have prior experience working in a Compensation & Benefits Global Team.
What you will do:
- Establish strategies for employee compensation and design performance-based compensation.
- Consistently seek advancement in HR policies and practices accordingly.
- Create and implement strategies for global total rewards in a competitive and fair manner based on the Company’s compensation philosophies to increase employee engagement.
- Identify the needs of employees from a total rewards perspective and plan data-driven global compensation strategies to motivate employees and retain key talents; effectively communicate with the senior leaders on the company.
- Contribute to the analytics capabilities within the function to provide data-driven insights and highlight areas for improvement to drive practices and decision-making.
- Establish and measure key metrics, benchmarking the company’s total rewards programs and assessing external trends to ensure market competitiveness.
- Partner with cross-functional team members to develop and execute reward and recognition practices, building strong and scalable processes.
Essential qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 12+ years of direct experience in Compensation, Benefits, and Total Rewards in an international and fast-growing environment.
- Broad experience with global compensation programs working with international markets.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication skills in all interactions with senior management, corporate departments and all levels of employees.
- Exceptional ability to consistently deliver creative, thoughtful, and business-oriented results that appropriately balance growth and risk in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt easily to rapid and diverse business changes.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines.
