The Team & Role

The Product Education team is a highly critical group within Zuora, responsible for delivering implementation-focused product training to our customers, partners, and employees. Our team is collaborative, passionate about learning, and open to giving and receiving feedback. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, engaging courses to our Zuora University students.

As the Product Education Senior Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of course development by leading a team of Instructional and Visual Designers. You will be responsible for ensuring the team follows sound principals of scoping, planning, design and development of courses and they work cross-functionally with Zuora’s Global Services, Alliances, and development teams.

What you’ll do

  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead and inspire a team of Instructional Designers and Visual Designers.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages continuous learning and professional development.
    • Conduct regular performance assessments, provide feedback, and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Course Development Strategy:

    • Ensure courses are well scoped and delivered on time and with high quality.
    • Implement a course development strategy aligned with the company’s goals and values.
    • Drive initiatives to enhance student learning, satisfaction, loyalty, and overall experience.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate feedback into course improvements.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Continuously assess and refine course creation processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize course development.
    • Produce high-quality methodology documentation.
    • Analyze metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and resource optimization.

Your experience

  • Minimum of 5 years Instructional Design or Visual Design experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Experience in project management. PMP/ITSM or an equivalent certification will be nice-to have though not mandatory.
  • Ability to work with a globally distributed team and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to overcome adversity; ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS products and the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing course development processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Learning Management System (LMS), Gantt charts, Storyboard tools.
  • Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage multiple complex projects in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong desire and ability to continually learn new skills, processes and technologies.
