Join us! As a Senior Sofware Engineer on the Unified API team at GoFundMe, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining a unified GraphQL API that serves as the backbone for all our engineering teams, enabling efficient data access and reducing duplication of effort. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to create reusable modules, improve development workflows, and enhance system reliability and scalability.

Candidates considered for this role will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Job…

  • Build and maintain GraphQL and other back-end services.
  • Develop platform-level patterns for use by other engineering teams.
  • Create or identify new frameworks that can be implemented at GFM.
  • Promote knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve urgent engineering issues.
  • Identify technical debt and proactively propose and implement solutions.
  • Advocate for codebase improvements and provide leadership and guidance within the team.

You…

  • 5+ years of professional experience working with backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, etc)
  • Experience with GraphQL and relational databases like MySQL
  • Experience with Cloud technologies like: AWS and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
  • Experience using Git in a workplace environment.
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and the ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and log analytics tools. We use New Relic and Sumo Logic.

Preferred…

  • Experience with Graph Databases like Neo4J (Cypher)
