Principal Software Consultant (Java/ .Net Developer)

A Principal Consultant has been around projects and technology for quite some time and has gained significant experience in a variety of situations, whether that is through a Workstate career path or via a previous consulting or corporate IT background.

The main characteristic of a Principal Consultant is that they operate from a mode of leadership and experience. Theirs is the first development role that is eligible to direct a team as a Project Lead or to guide other consultants as a direct manager. Those for which the Project Lead or direct manager roles are not desired or assigned are still fundamental leaders in technology and consulting skills and are crucial team mentors. Principals are second only in accomplishments to Senior Directors in all areas and are looked to as important Workstate representatives in our client partnerships.

Responsibilties:

• Provide expertise with application and database integration technologies
• Attend daily scrums, project meetings, and department meetings as required.
• Liaise with Test Analysts, Product Management, Project Management, Release Management, DBAs, Infrastructure, and other project teams as required
• Ability to quickly ramp up on and apply new technologies and processes
• Hands-on development of SOA-related project tasks
• Analyzing, documenting & designing applications for global consumption
• Work with the Product Management team to help in the gathering and documentation of requirements

Capabilities needed:

• Design and development experience in Java, Spring/SpringBoot, MVC, etc. or C#, .NET/Core, etc.; ideally some of both with senior level experience in at least one
• Experience with Angular
• Experience with SQL databases: SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB, etc.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a full-stack developer or strong back-end developer in developing applications
• Ideally some experience working in AWS
• Experience in web application development and rest API development
• Experience in JavaScript & TypeScript object-oriented programming
• Exposure to working in agile product development
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Interested in participating in a mutually supportive team-based environment; no lone wolves, no advancement at the expense of colleagues
