About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional and experienced Principal Engineer to take on a highly senior and strategic role within our team. As a core leader, you will drive key technical decisions and play a critical part in shaping the future of our platform. This position holds significant influence and visibility, and your contributions will directly impact the success of our company.

Role Responsibilities

1. Support, mentor, and lead the team alongside the CTO
2. Collaborate directly with CTO to define, design, and ship new features.
3. Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle.
4. Utilize and contribute to our continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
5. Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code with quick turnaround times and ownership/accountability
6. Document development phases and monitor systems.
7. Create and maintain processes, policies, documents, and the implementation of underlying systems and technologies for application sustainment, security, and privacy
8. Establish and support patterns and architectures for our front-end, backend, future applications, and our multi-and-single-tenant instances across cloud providers/platforms

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Prior experience as a Senior or Principal Engineer or similar role.
3. Deep knowledge of modern programming languages, specifically Python and its conventions (Java is a plus)
4. Experience with application backend development (data pipelines, databases, API’s, web servers, etc.)
5. Proven history of developing, maintaining, and scaling production grade infrastructure, cloud applications and architecture (preferably on AWS)
6. Experience with AI and Machine Learning algorithms is a plus
7. Knowledge/understanding of infrastructure-as-code and securing SaaS infrastructure is a plus
8. Proficiency and autonomy with git, Docker, and associated practices for collaborative and robust code development
9. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
10. Delivery-driven leader with an ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and produce high quality output
