Software Engineer - Data Extraction

Note: Partly is headquartered in Christchurch but has employees across NZ, AU, IN, PH, JP, UK and the EU. If you are not based in Christchurch, we will fly you to HQ for 2 weeks for onboarding, as well as 1 week per quarter for our “Season Openers” (we pay for your travel and accommodation).

🖍️ This role

The Software Engineer - Data Extraction will be based remotely and report to Tim (Engineering Director).

This role will play a pivotal part in the Data Extraction team building parsers, working with extracting data from self-contained databases and analyzing & structuring large amounts of data.

💻 What will you do

• Uncover relationships in unstructured data. Understand the encoding and structure of datasets and be able to represent the contents in a normalized format.

• Build Parsers.

• Analyze and structure large amounts of data by debugging how the data is currently interpreted.

🥷 Your skills

• Strong knowledge of Python.

• Strong knowledge of one or more low-level programming languages such as C.

• Experience with SQLite, Postgres, and similar databases.

• Proficient with file formats, encodings, and self-contained databases.

• (Preferred) Experience in reverse engineering.
