Role Overview:
Product Managers at Kompliant are entrepreneurial-minded leaders who work closely with cross-functional product development teams to create value-driving outcomes for our customers and the business. We have a relentless focus on the customer experience and deliver products and services that are seamless and delightful for users. All while navigating the environment of an early-stage startup: making difficult prioritization decisions, leaning in to take ownership, staying agile and operating lean. We’re looking for hands-on product managers who can thrive in a start-up environment and lead strategically, while also getting tactical to deliver products that scale with our growth.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in software product management, particularly in payments and financial technology services.
- Technical Background: Strong knowledge of technical concepts and the software development lifecycle, with hands-on coding experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with AI technologies and how they can be leveraged within Fintech and compliance sectors, as well as a strong understanding of the financial system regulatory environment in the US (knowledge of Canada, Europe, and LATAM is a plus).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience engaging with external partners and internal teams.
- Organization: Exceptional organization and prioritization skills with a proven ability to create and execute strategic plans.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required; an MBA or a degree in a technical field is a plus.
- Tools Proficiency: Experience with tools like JIRA, Figma, and lucidchart for managing product development and creating technical documentation.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, making difficult prioritization decisions and operating with agility.
What You’ll Do:
- Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the product lifecycle from strategic planning through to market discovery, delivery, and ongoing support of the Kompliant platform services.
- Vision and Strategy: Communicate and manage the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader company goals and priorities.
- Market Research: Conduct market research and engage with customers to define requirements for current and future service capabilities.
- Backlog Management: Maintain a well-prioritized product backlog that reflects customer needs, market demands, and company objectives.
- Customer Advocacy: Act as the primary advocate for customer experience, ensuring that product offerings are seamless, efficient, and delightful for users.
- Technical Documentation: Write detailed business and technical requirements, create sequence diagrams, and produce technical architecture documents.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering) to deliver high-quality products.
- Data Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze data to generate actionable insights that drive product improvements and prioritization decisions.
- User Testing: Lead discovery interviews and conduct user testing activities to gain intimate knowledge of customer needs and validate product concepts.
- KPIs and Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and ensure ongoing value creation for customers.
- Technical Proficiency: Collaborate effectively with engineers, leveraging a strong technical background to discuss, challenge, and refine product designs.
- Compliance and Regulatory Insight: Understand and help define Kompliant’s position in the market and its alignment with regulatory environments.
