Software Engineer Startup Advisor

Next Play makes card games that people play while watching sports on TV. We are looking for a Startup Advisor to help with the launch of our website.

We are looking for a Software Engineer Advisor to provide sound technical advice in all aspects of our business. You will communicate with the CEO and CTO about the status of the project.

Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role. We expect you to be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of software concepts. Online fantasy sports is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide advise on technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals
• Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
• Help departments use technology profitably
• Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Build quality assurance and data protection processes
• Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
• Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
• Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as a CTO, Advisor, or similar leadership role
• Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy
• Understanding of budgets and business-planning
• Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
• Excellent communication skills
• Leadership and organizational abilities
• Strategic thinking
• Problem-solving skills
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; Master's degree or other relevant graduate degree is a plus

We sold out of our card games in the 2023 football season. We made some revisions to the card game and we are back with a new and improved card game for the 2024 football season. We currently only make football games. The concept of the game is transferable to other sports including baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey, etc.

You would receive equity in the company. We are only asking for 1 hour per week.
