The Business Development Representative (BDR) will initiate contact with prospects, qualify opportunities, and successfully onboard clients. To be successful, candidates must be tenacious with a tremendous work ethic and a Hunter sales mentality. You will qualify inbound leads, prospect key accounts and follow-up to answer general inquiries.
As one of our key drivers of our sales pipeline, you will be responsible for following up on leads and guiding the customer conversation. This position will be a great platform for a Client Development Representative to: learn the space/industry; work in an innovative, high growth, fast-paced environment; and advance their career.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet activity metrics and sales goals on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
- Provide baseline research within targeted accounts to identify key contacts and critical account information prior to prospecting call
- Proactively stay on-top of company product along with competitor product and market knowledge via website, online webinars, and marketing information
- Ability to handle objections and pivot the conversation with tact and professionalism
- Assist identifying and leading opportunities that fall in company’s target market
- Ability to communicate with target personnel across target organization including Sr Level Executives such as C/VP/Director positions/titles
- Participate in regular meetings with manager and team to relay your market feedback and execute new initiatives effectively
Requirements:
- Experience in software sales is required
- 1+ years of Business Development or Sales Development experience
- Must be willing to travel and be onsite when needed
- High-reaching, results-driven personality. Regardless of the challenge, you want to be first
- Self-starter with consistent record of goals over achievement
- Positive energy, curiosity, perseverance, and strong problem-solving skills
- Experience selling support and/or eCommerce services in the technology industry
- Strong communication skills including setting goals and objectives
- Excellent writing skills, both to customers and internal staff
- High call courage and ability to build rapport quickly with new contacts
- Coachable, adaptable, intellectually curious and achievement-driven
- You are results focused. You are a team-player, but you also thrive working autonomously
- Strongly prefer existing experience using a POS software
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry is a plus
