Native Android Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Android Engineer with 1-3 years of experience in Kotlin and Java programming languages to join our team. The Android Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications for the Android platform. This role requires a strong understanding of mobile app development, UI/UX principles, and a passion for creating innovative and user-friendly experiences.

Mobile App Development:

1. Design and implement user-friendly, robust, and scalable Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
3. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
4. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.

Code Quality and Best Practices:

1. Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
2. Implement best practices for coding, testing, and code reviews.
3. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency.

UI/UX Implementation:

1. Work closely with UI/UX designers to translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
2. Optimise user interfaces for performance, scalability, and accessibility.

Testing and Debugging:

1. Conduct unit tests and UI tests to identify and fix bugs promptly.
2. Work with QA teams to ensure thorough testing of applications before deployment.

Documentation and Maintenance:

1. Document code changes and ensure comprehensive documentation of applications.
2. Support and maintain existing applications, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolution.
3. Communicate effectively with team members and Founders, Co-founders & Board of Members, clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-5 years of professional experience in Android application development using Kotlin and Java.
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries and APIs integration.
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
