What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with extensive experience as an account principal, delivery principal, consulting director, or consulting managing director who is passionate about both best practices in modern engineering and enabling clients through transferring knowledge, coaching, training and upskilling.
The Strategic Principal is a stakeholder in Liatrio's direction, and accountable for strategic direction of a major engagement or several smaller engagements, building and maintaining client relationships as a trusted strategic advisor, and overall engagement success. Internally, this role will work with Executive and Senior leaders as Liatrio scales. This is a second-line manager role, responsible for guiding a team of 2-4 managers & directors as direct reports, each with 2-10 individual contributors reporting to them from Associates to Principals.

What You Do
This is a Senior Director - level role. You thrive building relationships as a trusted advisor with clients, guiding and influencing the long-term strategy of their DevOps transformation, and guiding teams through this work.
We each bring varying degrees of knowledge to the table. You will have extensive experience in most of the below areas but not necessarily all of them. This is not a comprehensive list; there may be other equally valuable skills and experience you bring that are not listed here.
Strategy & Delivery Excellence
• Set and drive strategy - Create and accountable for SOWs, working closely with the C-suite, Liatrio technical leadership, and client stakeholders to advise, drive, and evolve the enterprise technology strategy for the client, transformation strategy, and workstream phases
• Delivery excellence - Responsible for execution of contractual obligations to deliverables, documentation, and providing an excellent customer experience
• Trusted advisor - Guide clients on transformation, technical, and methodological best practices, provide strategic influence, share industry insight, advocate for DevOps cultural and be a transformational consultant (remove political, financial, mental, social impediments)
• Own client relationship - Accountable for an account to build, grow, and maintain Liatrio relationships with the CXO, executive, and key customer stakeholders
• Technical knowledge - Collaborate with both Liatrio and customer architects and engineers to solve complex engineering challenges in the engagement
• Customer feedback - Anticipate objectives and conflicting points of view; maintain executive summaries, gather stakeholder feedback, measure outcomes, stakeholder check-ins, set SLAs
• Oversight and accountability - Review and approve resource forecast and actual, invoice accuracy, and timely submission
Team Development
• Team morale and alignment - Accountable for overall morale and well-being of the Liatrio team, set SLAs, and communication tone
• Direct reports - 2nd line manager with 2-4 senior team members who each manage 4-8 ICs, coaching/mentoring with weekly 1:1s, real-time feedback, support career development, and formal feedback monthly & bi-annually
• Team accountability - Oversight and approve prioritization to meet SOWs and SLAs
• Staffing needs & demands - Identifies and maps capabilities of the team to client needs, advise business and PeopleOps on hiring, onboarding, and rotation to prevent burnout
Liatrio Growth
• Customer growth & expansion - Ownership of relationship with established clients, partner with the sales team’s work in providing an excellent customer experience, identifying opportunities for expansion, promoting Liatrio, and crafting SOWs
• Liatrio IP development - Leveraging industry insights to create accelerators that will be valuable to future engagements, support our internal efforts, and grow the community
Consulting skills, tools, and technologies
You will be expected to have extensive experience owning, leading, and enabling multiple workstreams:
• Identifying, defining, and translating consulting vision to clients and functional initiatives
• Management Consulting

• Enterprise Transformation, Digital Transformation, Cloud Migration, Application Modernization, Platform Engineering, and Engineering Enablement
You should have a strong understanding of our capabilities, tools, and technologies and be able to advise our clients on why and when to use them:
• Build systems, using technologies like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab
• Infrastructure as Code, like Terraform or Cloud Formation
• Cloud native technologies, such as Kubernetes and Istio
• Cloud providers, like Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud
• Observability, through tools such as Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Grafana, DataDog or Zipkin
• Modern source control management systems and branching strategies
• Application Development, comfortable reviewing code and empathizing with developers across the SDLC
Specifics
• Full benefits including unlimited PTO, funded HSA option, 401k match, monthly LiveWell stipend, and quarterly company bonus
• Annual base salary: $216,000- $264,000, depending on experience
Requirements
• Employment eligibility: must be authorized to work in the United States or Canada without the need for sponsorship.
• Travel: we divide our time between working remotely and visiting our clients' sites. This role will be onsite with the client approximately 50%, which can include commuting, majority US travel, and occasional international travel.
