Network Engineer

Job Title: Network Engineer
Payrate: $120 per hour.

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to evaluate, recommend, and implement network architecture solutions for a critical 9-1-1 call-taking and dispatch environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with vendors, project managers, and colleagues to ensure the design, implementation, and maintenance of a stable, high-performance network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and recommend network architecture solutions based on performance, stability, availability, cost-efficiency, and development requirements for supporting new applications and users in a 9-1-1 call-taking and dispatch environment.
• Work with vendors and project managers to develop, review, and update network architecture standards related to system architecture and LAN/WAN design.
• Collaborate with colleagues to advise on policies, procedures, and best practices for network infrastructure design and implementation, while consulting with users on technology infrastructure designs and architecture models.
• Generate conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures, test plans, requirements, and use cases to ensure LAN/WAN architecture meets application and user needs.
• Assist program teams with design, procurement, testing, cutover, and reporting activities related to network infrastructure.
• Develop and coordinate system lifecycle management with IT Services, including asset configuration and security for network systems.
• Manage the implementation and execution of the requirements management process, including elicitation and verification.
• Work Schedule: Normal business hours, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week (excluding mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hours of work). Totaling 1820 hours over 1 year.

Mandatory Skills/Experience:

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience at a senior level as an audio/telephony systems Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Expertise in Network Design and Architecture.
• Proficiency in Routing and Switching.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols.
• Familiarity with Network Protocols and Standards.
