What will you be doing?
The Director of Sales will lead the Sales function within their assigned region to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes.
Your main areas of responsibility and essential functions will be:
- Consistent achievement of objectives for sales volume, gross profit, cost control, and market share
- Identify, develop, and drive execution of sales strategies that align with and support organizational goals and objectives
- Oversee and manage all aspects of Sales operations for assigned region and partner with Sales personnel in other regions to maximize global sales attainment
- Recruit, retain, train, manage, and develop Sales personnel in assigned region through Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and directly with sellers
- Deliver strategic business growth through sales to existing and new Business Partners
- Oversee the selling process and Sales personnel to deliver to sales and gross profit expectations
- Determine key growth opportunities; coordinate to set and implement strategies to capitalize on them
- Support Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) in motivating, training, and assisting Sales staff to manage performance and maximize sales and gross margin
- Achieve and maintain Approved Vendor status with strategic Business Partners
- Plan and perform periodic visits to customer sites
- Create and present periodic reports and presentations detailing sales and gross profit projections and actuals, strategic and tactical plans, and results
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure achievement of business objectives
- Represent and communicate Velocity’s culture, core values, and value proposition
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
Required Education
- 4-year college degree
Required Experience
Management experience in a similar position where you demonstrated relevant expertise
Preferred Experience
- 10+ years of sales or business development management experience in the electronic components industry
Required Knowledge
- Computer literate
- Proficient with office productivity applications
Preferred Knowledge
- Familiar with complex ERP systems
- Electronic components industry
