Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks an experienced Software Engineer for our Markets team in Amsterdam.
The Markets division is responsible for providing market intelligence and liquidity access, developing capabilities for new markets, and optimizing access to existing ones.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing a high-frequency trading platform, which includes collecting quotes and trades from and disseminating orders to exchanges around the world
- Optimizing this platform by using network and systems programming, as well as other advanced techniques to minimize latency
- Analyzing system throughput and latency performance and building performance-tracking tools
- Shaping the future of the Core Engineering team through regular interviewing
Qualifications
- A degree in computer science or a related field
- At least 8-10 years of experience in a software engineering role
- A strong background in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming in C++
- Brilliant problem-solving abilities
- The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills in English
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Knowledge of any other development language, including Python and Shell scripts
- Experience in statistical analysis of performance and other datasets (a plus)
- Familiarity with cloud computing infrastructure (a plus)
Individuals in this role will have a range of experience and will have the opportunity to cover a broad spectrum of hands-on development projects; the right person could range from a mid-level engineer that is looking to start their career at Tower Research Capital, to an experienced professional that is looking to make significant contributions to our global trading platform.
Experience in financial and crypto markets is a plus, but not required.
