Full Stack Engineer

The Role

As a rapidly evolving, mission-focused start-up, we are in search of an experienced full-stack engineer to help us build both the front and backend of our products. Your role will span from developing user interface components using React.js to writing scalable, reusable, testable backend code for the underlying services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for both the front and back ends.
2. Implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant APIs and applications.
3. Develop user-facing features using React.js and Redux, translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
4. Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
5. Ensure application robustness and easy maintenance.
6. Integrate with databases, both SQL (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), and messaging services.
7. Collaborate effectively in small team, highly collaborative settings — remember this is startup.

You are someone with the following attributes 🤞🏽

1. Fits the description of who we are looking for on culture and values (see here)
2. Has 3+ years of relevant experience and is located in Bangalore -- and ok with coming to office in Indiranagar.
3. Writes clean, top-notch code in Python (with FastAPI) and JavaScrip/TypeScript (with React; knowledge of Svelte is a plus).
4. Understands fundamental design principles behind scalable applications.
5. Has knowledge of unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Supertest, pytest).
6. Is adept at working with various database systems esp MySQL and MongoDB and has experience with associated ORM libraries (eg. SQLAlchemy).
7. Has a good grasp of the front end basics like HTML, CSS and understands backend basics around how RESTful APIs work.
8. Ability to work well with Git and CI/CD pipelines is an absolute

10. Experience with customer-facing product startups is a plus.
