The Role
The Research Associate will work within Reorg’s EMEA Covenants team, based in the London office. The role is ideal for someone who has graduated university and is interested in working within the legal and/or financial services sector. This will be a hybrid role for an enthusiastic person who has a desire to learn and thrives in a growing, dynamic environment.
You will help generate actionable insights and statistics using our European leveraged loan and high yield bond terms databases, all while being guided and backed by the deep expertise and knowledge of our team of legal experts. The EMEA Covenants team works alongside Reorg’s team of market leading financial analysts and reporters, and you will also gain knowledge and exposure to the broader leveraged finance market and industry as part of the process.
- Support the Reorg EMEA Covenants team, composed of experienced legal professionals covering the European leveraged loans and high yield bonds markets
- Establish good working knowledge of Reorg’s deep and varied legal and financial databases, analyzing datasets and generating visual representation of datasets, all with a view to providing valuable and actionable content for use by credit professionals
- Deepen knowledge of leveraged loan and high yield bond covenants
- Utilize available Reorg coverage and databases to generate ideas for the legal team to write on
- Check facts, proof read and edit documents to ensure accuracy
- Proactively support sales and marketing efforts; including helping to organize webinars, events and training, attending where necessary
- Lead or assist with various administrative and data-driven projects, as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum university degree educated or equivalent working experience (ideally 2yrs+ experience)
- Basic / intermediate Excel skills, able to generate visual representations of data
- Able to interpret raw data and generate basic statistics, able to manage large amounts of information
- Interest in the financial / capital markets; law / finance
- Previous experience in high yield, leveraged finance, or capital markets is advantageous
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive and collaborative team player
- Ability to multi-task and ability to prioritize effectively among multiple tasks
