Senior Software Engineer [MDM]

We are seeking a skilled and motivated engineer to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer, Vanta MDM. Vanta MDM is a lightweight MDM solution that powers the device security monitoring of the Vanta Trust platform. It empowers companies to have high confidence in their device security postures and secures more than 100,000 devices today. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for owning the end-to-end development, deployment, distribution, and maintenance of our lightweight device monitoring solution, the Vanta MDM. This critical role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of the Vanta MDM, which plays a vital role in monitoring device security posture for compliance and security maturity.

Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it. We’d love for you to join us! What you’ll do as a Senior Software Engineer [MDM] at Vanta:

• Lead the complete lifecycle of the Vanta MDM, including design, development, testing, deployment, distribution, and maintenance.
• Define and implement the architecture and functionality of the Vanta MDM to monitor device security on MacOS, Windows, and Linux devices.
• Build and maintain the osquery-based device monitoring agent from end to end
• Keep a high bar in reliability, security, and integrity for Vanta MDM
• Improve deployment strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems for the Vanta MDM

How to be successful in this role:

• Skills and interests to learn new technologies and concepts. Things evolve fast here, curiosity and a growth mindset are the superpowers to have.
• Experience in developing native applications for Mobile devices (iOS/Android) or MacOS, Windows, and Linux platforms
• Knowledge of network protocols, security best practices, and encryption standards.
• Proficiency in one or more languages: Golang, SQL, C++, javascript

Bonus:

• Experience with Osquery or MDM development
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools for deployment and automation.
• Familiarity with AWS and services
• Experience in Windows development technologies, such as Windows installer, and WiX Toolset.
• Contributed to open-source projects
• Experience or passion in native application security

Pay Range: $155,000 - $221,000; If you are offered the position, your offer amount will be based on your experience.
